OUR JOURNEY

Born from Friendship. Shaped by Motherhood.

This whole thing began as a casual catch-up between two old friends, Shravya and Divya. We grew up together in a quiet suburb in South India, and now—decades later—we live on opposite sides of the world, raising kids, building careers, and figuring life out. Shravya works in advertising in the U.S., Divya is a banker in Canada.

We often found ourselves talking about how different life feels now. When we were kids, we rarely questioned anything—we accepted what we were told, believed what we saw, and just went along. But raising children, far from home, has made us see how layered and complicated the world really is. Especially when seen through the eyes of our kids.

Tara’s story was born from that place. Shravya, as a mother of two daughters with hearing loss, wanted a character that didn’t yet exist for her girls—a central character with hearing aids who is curious, silly, confident, and just like any other kid. A character for all kids—kids who wonder, who notice, and who are learning how to understand themselves and others.

Divya joined in to bring these stories to life with her illustrations.

And here we are—two friends, doing something we’ve never done before, hoping to make room for conversations, curiosity, and a little magic along the way.
